A seat at the table for every story

Roll for Success gathers adults in recovery around cooperative tabletop campaigns, replacing isolation with dependable peer fellowship, pencils, and shared rolls of the dice.

Roots in Dayton

Between clinical care and everyday life

Traditional recovery services provide essential crisis intervention, yet participants often leave treatment facilities only to encounter quiet apartments and severed social ties. Roll for Success began along the Miami River to offer an intentional intermediate harbor where adults practice communication and emotional regulation through structured storytelling.

Our cohorts never issue diagnoses or assign clinical homework. Instead, small groups of four meet weekly with trained volunteer Game Masters to navigate fictional perils, negotiate conflicting priorities, and build genuine community ties that outlast the eight-week campaign schedule.

Guiding principles

Three commitments behind every campaign

Our campaigns operate under explicit social guidelines that ensure emotional safety, mutual accountability, and room for laughter.

Belonging without prerequisites

Collaboration through conflict

Purposeful and engaging play

No participant needs prior role-playing knowledge, technical fluency, or social polish to sit down with us. Acceptance begins before the first die hits the felt tray.

Campfires and dungeon crossroads test team communication. Navigating in-game disagreements teaches real-world compromise and mutual perspective-taking without personal friction.

Personal growth does not require solemn boardrooms. Shared imagination, unexpected humor, and heroic triumphs kindle authentic resilience faster than sterile lectures.
